About the Artist
Paige Ford began her passion for art early on. In high school, she started by doing pencil and charcoal drawings of aliens. She ended up walking away from art for over a decade to pursue a degree in Bioengineering.
In 2019, she picked up acrylic painting as her medium. Her senior dog Cece (aka Cebert) was her muse and inspiration for many of her paintings. She transitioned to more abstract paintings around 2021, which were exhibited in Terrain 15.
After a one year hiatus, she came back with new artistic inspiration in the medium of rug tufting. She grew interested in rug tufting because of it's tactile nature. It challenges the traditional view of art being seen and not touched. Often, Paige combines her skills in tufting and wood working to make unique frames and more often, you will see her rugs hanging, rather than on the floor.
Paige uses rug tufting as a way to explore and express concepts such as frustration with her experience in corporate America but also the whimsical, colorful, and more abstract ideas. Paige's work in the medium of rug tufting was exhibited in Terrain 17 as the only work of it's kind. Making her a unique artist in the Inland Northwest region.
